If there ever was a small fishing village here at Cala Murada, it has now disappeared underneath a huge development of accommodation. The holiday apartments go back quite a long way from the beach in a series of little estates, each with their own parade of shops and cafes. Some very new accommodation has sprung up along the cliffs to the sides of the beach too (Autumn 2008), some of this looked as if it was intended for owner/occupiers, rather than holiday apartments.
The beach itself is a mixture of sand and grit, so is a slightly darker colour than many on this side of the island. There's a large beach cafe here and a life guard on duty. You can play volleyball, or hire canoes and pedalos.
Behind the beach is a large, stagnant, dirty pool. Litter floats all around the edges and I would imagine the mosquitos love it...
