As the name suggests, Cala Esmeralda is the greenest of the beaches at Cala D'Or. Accommodation here is a mixture of apartments and hotels, set out tastefully in spacious gardened area. Trees line the sides of the beach, where small cafes and bars have inviting terraces, with sunloungers. From these, steps have been cut into the sand to take you straight down to the beach.
Don't worry that the sand looks rather dark on this shot: it had been raining the previous night!
From here, it's quite a walk into town, so many people use the the bus or beach train, which stops at many beaches along the resort of Cala D'Or.
