The old town of Alcudia is about 2 miles inland from the resort of Alcudia, on the coast. It is an ancient, walled town, dating back to the fourteenth century, although people have lived on this site since Roman and Greek times.
There are narrow streets and high walls, which open out onto gorgeous squares like this one. I'm not sure how we managed to find such a quiet one as this for the photo - everywhere else was jam-packed with tourists! Alcudia old town holds an extremely popular weekly street market which is well worth a visit.
