 Soller and Port de Soller beachPort de Soller is nestled in an almost circular bay, with a backdrop of orange and lemon orchards and huge mountains. This is a very busy town, extremely popular with tourists, since it is the coastal terminus for the old wooden train, which travels from Palma into the mountains and then down to the sea at Port de Soller. The beach at Port de Soller is a mixture of sand and fine pebbles. It is not wide but does extend for nearly the whole bay. The water is shallow and calm, being so sheltered by the circular bay and the mountains. The warm waters would be perfect for very small children but we found the heat and lack of a breeze quite oppressive (we were here in peak season). MORE... |
