You can see why it has become so popular: about 8km of soft, golden sand, a wide beach, waves big enough to have fun in, without being dangerous and well patrolled by life guards. Behind the sea front are a wide choice of cafes, bars, restaurants and nightclubs, catering for Brits and other holiday-makers. It's not as loud and in-your-face as some of the resorts further south, but it does get very busy in peak season, with plenty going on to keep you amused on and off the beach.
